Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. Psalm 84:3

'TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING

'TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING
Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned--the dark meat and white,
but I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
the thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
and gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees......
.happy eating to all---pass the cranberries, please!

Vinny's Thanksgiving Feast

At 1:15 we went back to school for Vinny's Thanksgiving feast! We had more turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries and bread, topped off with brownies and cupcakes. Vinny's teacher set up a Pocahontas movie while we ate and we talked about Native Americans since the class has their project due right after the Thanksgiving holiday. Vinny is doing his project on Sitting Bull and really wants to impress his teacher with what he has learned.

Kindergarten Feast

Sal and Kelli had their Thanksgiving Feast today! Nicholas and I went to the school at 8:30 to set up the tables and welcome all the kindergarten classes at 9:30. We handed out the turkey, cheese, fruit, bread, juice and milk. Sal invited Nicholas to sit with him and Kelli sat with her friends from class. We had a great time!

Holiday Lights

Nothing says Merry Christmas like fireworks! We took the kids to Traditions for the annual tree lighting ceremony. After we walked around to see the holiday lights we ended the night with fireworks over the water.

Nicholas Thanksgiving Feast!

Nicholas' class had their Thanksgiving feast Thursday. He brought Nana to share the day with him.

Ms Lowrey did circle time with the kids before the feast.

Nicholas counted for the number song and dug as a squirrel.

Then the class turned into Indians right before our eyes and sang 10 Little Indians....

Tuesdays Treasure: Old Friends

Today's Tuesday Treasure is to Denise. We met at Gardens Learning Center in 98, and have been friends ever since. We may not get to see each other as often as we would like but when we do get together we act like no time has pasted. We saw each other just the other day and talked about the crazy years we spent in PBG. So this Tuesday Treasure is for you Denise, just think "back bib", "wish this was you Brenda", "bus stop" and "Yo, Gardin Learn Center"! LOL

Hee Haw with a Crash Crash

We went to the Demolishion Derby night at the Rodeo with Growing Up Garcia on Saturday night. Now we are City Slickers and had no idea about anything!

First the Demolition Derby is just like bumper cars that smoke and catch on fire! We knew the boys were going to love that since most days they play that game with their Hot Wheels BUT we had idea the girls were going to love it! Their was even a pink car with a lady driver and the girls went crazy. Hmmm do I see future Real-life Bumper car girls?

The boys! Vinny, Sal, Ethan and Nick. The girls! Madison, Kelli and Sadie

The gangs all here! Even the parents got into the pictures!

Next came the Rodeo part of the evening! Some cool Cowboys tried to last 8 seconds on some wild bucking horses. What us City Slickers didn't know was the "wild unbroken horses" are actually trained horses wearing ball-bands. That kinda took the wind out of our sails! For the rest of the night we tried to decide how tight their bands were because some of the horses seemed to like it!

After a entertaining but enlightening night out our "love birds" headed home.

Wanna be a Super Star?

When do two cute Kindergarteners turn into school Superstars?
When they......
S tay on Task
T ake Responsibility
A ct Safely
R espect Others

Sal and Kelli did just that and was awarded Super Star of the Month for November. Both students were recognized at the Award Assembly. We got the added bonus of their report cards too! Sal had almost all "S's" with a couple of "P's" and Kelli had half "S's and P's" which means both are doing great! Both their teachers are very proud of them and so are we. Vinny brought home his report card to with all "S's" which was a jump up since his progress report.

55 minutes?

On our last day we had to head back to Hollywood Studios for the new Toy Story ride (which is my favorite!) The night before it was a 120 minute wait. Well the next day it wasn't much better 55 minute wait, we let the kids vote to stand in line or ride something else.....4 to 0 WAIT! I thought my little pumpkins did not understand what 55 minutes was so as I *tried* to explain Vinny said "Gee mom its an hour"! So right you are Vinny, 1 hour and 5 minutes later we were on Toy Story.

We are a family of pictures by "opportunity", I hate to stand in line for a 5 second, didn't even know you smiled pictures with characters. So we were surprised to see Mike and Sully with no one around to pose with them.....

Another great time at our favorite place on earth!

Magic Kingdom AM Hollywood Studios PM

We hit Magic Kingdom early in the morning to ride Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, Snow White, Barnstormer and Disney Philharmonic.

That night we went to Hollywood Studios to see Fantasmic! What a neat show, the kids had never seen the water/light show before so it was a real treat for them.
