Ed and I had our first 'childless' vacation to New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA). Here are some of our favorite moments....
Jackson Square.
We walked the square were the beautiful wrought iron fence is adorned with local artists paintings. Jackson Square is a major hub with many wonderful stores and restaurants adjacent to the square.
St Louis Cathedral was across from Jackson Square, it is the oldest Catholic Church in New Orleans. It still holds mass three times a day. It was beautiful inside and out.
Lunch with friends at Mother's. This Dinners, Drive-Ins and Dives hot spot had great local food and even better company. Our friends Steve and Amanda drove from Mississippi to spend the day with us.
Carriage Ride.
Departing from Jackson Square our mule and buggy gave us a great local tour of the French Quarter. Since our hotel was in the quarter we walked these streets many times over the three days but hearing local legends and haunted history made our strolls even better.
Some of our sites during the carriage ride.
My favorite was the Cornstalk Hotel.
Thanks to my family for watching our gang so we could have this mini-vacation. The children's 'vacation' pictures will be posted soon, I am not sure who had more fun this weekend!
Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. Psalm 84:3
